Emergency fault repair in Stockholm
An electrical emergency can't wait until the next working day. In Stockholm, El Jour 24 has certified on-call electricians ready to respond 24/7 – we locate the fault and make your home safe.

What we help you with
We handle power outages, short circuits, burnt sockets, tripped RCDs and fire hazards in Stockholm. Our electrician diagnoses, secures the situation and repairs what's possible on the spot.
Common emergency situations
- Total power loss in all or part of the home
- Burning smell or heat from sockets and the consumer unit
- An RCD that trips again and again
- Sparks or scorch marks at outlets
Common symptoms – and what usually causes them
An acute electrical fault rarely announces itself in advance. The whole home goes dark, a fuse trips again and again, or a socket starts to smell burnt. The symptoms usually say a lot about where the fault sits – which is why we start asking questions the moment you call.
If your entire home has lost power while the neighbours still have theirs, the main fuses or a fault in your own installation are the likely suspects. If the RCD (residual-current device) trips the instant you try to reset it, there is very likely an earth fault – often in a dishwasher, a washing machine or a damp outdoor socket. And a fuse that blows whenever one particular appliance starts points to an overload or a short circuit in that appliance.
- A burnt smell or a discoloured socket – a loose connection generating heat, and a serious fire risk
- Crackling or clicking from a switch or junction box – a poor connection that needs prompt attention
- Lights flickering throughout the home at the same time – may indicate a broken neutral, a fault to take seriously
- Half the home without power – a tripped breaker or a break in a single circuit
- An RCD that trips in wet weather – moisture in an outdoor socket, garden lighting or an engine-heater outlet
How the work is carried out
With acute faults we always work in the same order – it is the fastest route back to a safe installation.
- You call 073-173 87 37. The call is answered around the clock, every day of the year. You describe what has happened, and we ask a few key questions – for instance whether anything smells burnt and whether the RCD can be reset.
- You get safety advice straight away, along with an honest time estimate. For acute faults in Stockholm we are normally on site within 2 hours.
- On site, the electrician starts at the consumer unit and narrows the fault down circuit by circuit – with measuring instruments rather than guesswork.
- The fault is repaired permanently where possible. If parts or more extensive work are needed, the faulty section is disconnected safely so the rest of the home can be used as normal.
- Before we leave, you get a clear summary: what was wrong, what has been done and what, if anything, remains. Private individuals can use the Swedish ROT deduction on the labour cost.
What you can safely do yourself – and what to leave to an electrician
A few checks are safe to do before you call. But if anything is burning or smoking, the order changes: call 112 first, and only switch off the main power if you can reach the consumer unit without risk.
Check whether the neighbours have also lost power – if so, it is most likely a grid outage and a matter for the network operator. Then look at the consumer unit: has a fuse or the RCD tripped? Reset it once. If it trips again, leave it alone and instead unplug the appliance that was running when the fault appeared. Replacing a blown screw-in fuse or a light bulb is also fine to do yourself.
Anything in the fixed installation is a different matter. Replacing sockets, working inside the consumer unit or joining cables may, under current Swedish regulations, only be carried out by an electrical installation company registered with the Swedish Electrical Safety Board (Elsäkerhetsverket). And never touch exposed or fire-damaged wiring – even when the power appears to be off.
